      <image:title>Publications - Precision ion separation from complex water streams is crucial for energy-efficiently recovering critical materials essential for energy technologies while concurrently augmenting reusable water at the energy-water-environment nexus. However, it remains at the bottleneck in separation science due to the lack of understanding, materials, and methods capable for precision separation based on molecular recognition. Herein, in-depth understanding on which specific atomistic site within the microenvironment of given binding pockets governs the ion discrimination behaviors of the host will build a solid foundation to guide the rational design of next-gen materials for precision separation essential for energy technologies and environment remediation.</image:title>
